Scrollwire is a news app operated by BiotechComm LLC (“we”). This policy explains what information we collect and why.
Who can use Scrollwire
Scrollwire is for people 13 and older. When you sign up we ask your birth year only to confirm your age; we don’t store it. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email us and we will delete it.
What we collect
- Account information: your email address and password (stored encrypted), your first name, and the username you choose.
- What you do in the app: stories you like, save and read, and the topics you pick, so we can personalize your feed.
- Messages: stories you send to friends and any note you add. These are visible only to you and the people you send them to.
- Safety reports: if you report someone, we keep the report and the note you reported so we can review it.
- Basic technical information: app version and crash information, so we can fix bugs.
What we don’t collect
We don’t collect your location, contacts, photos, phone number or advertising ID. We don’t track you across other apps or websites, and we don’t show ads.
How we use your information
To run your account, personalize your feed, deliver stories friends send you, review safety reports, and keep the app working and safe.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your information. We use service providers to run the app, including Supabase (account and data storage) and Expo (app delivery). They process data only on our behalf. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Links to news sites
Every story links to the original article. Opening it takes you to the publisher’s website, which has its own privacy policy.
Your choices
- Change your topics at any time from the feed.
- Block or report anyone from the Friends screen or your inbox.
- Delete your account in Settings. This immediately and permanently deletes your account, profile, likes, saves, friends and messages.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, and access rules make sure only you can see your private data.

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above and let you know in the app.
